FAQ's

What is the difference between 3D Volume and Classic lashes?

3D Volume Lashes are revolutionary. Beautiful super fine multiple lashes are applied to one single natural eyelash, individually isolating one natural eyelash at a time. If two eyelash extensions are applied to one natural lash it's described as 2D, if three eyelash extensions are applied to one natural lash then it's described as 3D etc. These lashes are perfect for clients who don't have a lot of lashes, have sparse lashes, bald spots or just want a more dramatic look without having to use a thicker lash. Volume lashes are lighter, fluffier and give the client a fuller look.

Classic Lashes is a method where one lash extension is glued to one natural lash. Classic lashes are perfect for clients who already have a lot of lashes, but want to add more length. The result is a long lasting and natural looking extension of your natural beauty.

How long does it take to apply extensions?

Depending on the type and amount of eyelash extensions being applied, a full set can take anywhere from 90 to 180 minutes.

How often should i get infills?

It's recommended to schedule an Infill appointment every 2-3 weeks. This will take approx 60 to 90 minutes.

Do I need to prepare for my lash appointment?

You need to thoroughly clean your lashes with a mild cleanser before your appointment to ensure any traces of makeup and oils have been removed.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes I work by appointments only. You can book online or call the studio.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to keep your appointment please contact the studio at least 24 hours before. Clients who fail to give sufficient notice or do not show up for their scheduled appointment a 50% service fee will be charged.

How do I look after my lash extensions?

Aftercare is key! Ensure the correct aftercare is followed and maintained by avoiding direct heat for 12 hours. Do not use mascara. Don't pull or rub your eyes. Keep your eyelids and lashes clean by using a mixture of baby shampoo and water at least three times a week. Infill the lashes every 2-3 weeks to keep them looking full of volume.

How long will they last?

By following the proper aftercare instructions, your new lashes will last as long as your own natural lash cycle, you can shed up to 5 eyelashes per day. Your natural lashes will fall out at different stages of their life cycle and will be replaced by the growth of a new lash. The cycle is approx 6 weeks but this will vary from person to person. Due to this cycle, infills are recommended about every 2-3 weeks to maintain a consistent full look.

Can different looks be achieved?

Depending upon your specific needs and what kind of look you wish to create, lash extensions come in varying lengths, thicknesses and curls.

How long will they make my lashes?

Depending on the length of the lash size you choose, extensions can make your lashes 20-50 % longer.

Can I use a lash growth serum?

Yes you can, in fact I always recommend to my clients that they should use GrandeLash MD alongside wearing the lash extensions, especially if you are wearing the extensions long term. This 5x award winning conditioner shows results in just 4-6 weeks!

How soon before an event should I have them done?

I suggest around 2 days before that special event or vacation. This ensures accurate curing time for the bonding agent (which can take up to 48 hours) and the freshest possible look for the lashes.

Can I use mascara on my extensions?

Using mascara on your extensions is NOT recommended. The look and ease of lash extensions are designed so that you don't need to use mascara at all. Most mascaras contain ingredients that will damage and dissolve the bonding agent on your extensions and hence make them last not nearly as long.

What about eye liner?

Avoid using petroleum based products that are waxy or creamy. Powdered options are safe because their ingredients are compatible with the lashes bonding agent and will not break it down.

Can I use my cleanser to remove my make up?

Most facial cleansers are too oily or creamy to be used around the eye area when you have lash extensions. Recommended is baby shampoo and water with a cleansing brush. This product can be purchased at the studio.

Does the Blink lash service damage my natural lashes?

By taking care of your lashes by following the aftercare instructions, your extensions will not damage your natural eyelashes. If you pull or are too rough on your lashes, then your eyelash will come off with the extension. Naturally your lashes will grow back in time without any problem, so it is nothing to worry about. Be gentle with your lashes and they will last much longer.

I sleep on my stomach. Will this affect my lashes?

Covering your eyes with a silk sleeping mask will greatly increase the longevity of your lashes. Sleeping on your side may loosen the lashes on that side, so a silk sleeping mask is highly recommended.

Can you take off the lash extension?

Yes. They can be removed easily for you, however you must not attempt this yourself as this may cause damage to your natural lashes.

How will the eyelash extensions look once applied?

Once applied, eyelash extensions should look completely natural. There should be a seamless transition from the natural eyelash to the eyelash extension.

Can I swim with eyelash extensions?

Yes. You can swim with eyelash extensions. Just make sure that you don't rub your eyes and that you rinse them thoroughly after

Is the Adhesive safe?

Yes, the adhesives used for the application of eyelash extensions are hypoallergenic, specially formulated for use around the eye area. The main ingredient is that which is found in medical grade adhesives used to perform suture less wound closures. Your eyes remain closed throughout the procedure and the adhesive is only applied to the natural lash and doesn't touch the skin.

My lash Adhesive (ingredients)

For those of you with obvious concerns as to the ingredients in the adhesive I use, here are the ingredients it contains, Ethyl-2-Cyanoacrylate, Methylmethacrylate, Hexanediol-Copolymer, Carbon Black & Others. This is exactly what it says on the back of the bottle. I would never use any adhesive with Formaldehyde.

Can I curl my lash?

No. Never use an eyelash curler as they can break the extension.
